How to Sign Up
Signing up to be part of Best Buy’s Member Rewards Program is simple. You can stop by your nearest Best Buy store, fill out a card, and hand it in to the customer service desk. You can also go to the store’s website at www.bestbuy.com, enter “member rewards” in the search bar and enter your information. Becoming a member of the rewards program is free and intended for those 18 years of age and up.
Best Buy Member Rewards
In the Best Buy Rewards Program, you earn points with every purchase that you make. For every 250 points that you earn, you’ll receive a $5 off reward certificate. Besides accruing points, the member rewards program has other special perks, like early access to store specials, receiving exclusive member-only offers and even a gift for your birthday.
Membership Levels
The Best Buy Member Rewards program has three different levels, with more benefits afforded to those in the highest membership tier. All members start at the “My Best Buy” level. Once a member has spent at least $1,500 on qualifying purchases, they are moved up to the “My Best Buy Elite” level. “My Best Buy Elite Plus” is reached when a member has spent at least $3,500 on qualifying purchases. In the basic level, you receive 0.5 points for every dollar spent. My Best Buy Elite members get 1 point for every $1 spent, and My Best Buy Elite members earn 1.25 points for every dollar that they spend.
The My Best Buy Credit Card
Purchases made using the My Best Buy credit card earn you even more points. At the basic and elite levels, you receive 2.5 points for every dollar spent when you pay with the credit card. At the elite plus level, it bumps up to 3 points per dollar spent.
Other Membership Benefits
There are other benefits that My Best Buy Rewards Program members enjoy, according to the Best Buy website:
- Shipping: Enjoy free shipping at the basic level for purchases over $35, all purchases for elite members and two-day shipping for the elite plus.
- Returns and exchanges: You can return items up to 15 days at the basic level, 30 days at the elite level and 45 days at the elite plus level.
